Blankety Blank

I inherited a bag full of crocheted granny squares recently, and not being a crocheter myself, I was quite excited at the prospect of finally being able to make a patchwork blanket!
There wasn’t anywhere near enough to make a grown up sized one, so the toddler is in luck! (and she does like a good blanket bless her – especially as she’s potty training so she can sling it over her bare legs as she sits for hours on the plastic throne!)
This was an easy peasy and super quick project (umm maybe because the hard work had already been done…) but it was still very satisfying seeing them all come together, and I could finally use a blanket stitch for it’s proper application, instead of just a pretty edging!
Incidentally, why does wool/thread etc always run out when you only have a couple of inches left to sew? Always happens to me and it is so irritating!!
Anyway, I toyed with the idea of making it into a proper quilt with a lining and some pretty bias edging, but my husband decided it looked better au natural, and I think I agree with him!
Cute eh?
